~~~splash~~~
I've had a hard life. I've had it easy. If there is one thing I've learned in the short time I've been living it is that life is simply life. It is ugly and beautiful. It is tender and cruel. It is weak and powerful. It is joyful and depressing. It is honest and deceitful. It is love and hatred. Life is the ultimate expression of all that is. Life is the only place where darkness and light co-exist.
Life is one moment built upon another of choices and results. And in the end very few of us matter in the grand scheme of things. We might have those who felt for us, but they will soon fade away like we have. And who will be left to remember us? None save future scientists and archeologists who will measure and catalog us. In other words our lives are basically meaningless to anyone but ourselves and the few people we touch.
We have one brief moment called our life to place our ripple upon the waters of existence. Some of us, most of us, are so filled with fear that we are never willing to do more than dangle our toes in the edge of the water or at the most wade a few short steps from the shore. There are, however, a few, very few, who look out over the waters of existence and jump out into the middle of the water. They do not know how deep the water is. They do not know what will result from their choice. They do not know if they will even survive the jump. They only know that this risk is the only possible way for their life to make any real impact. Or to have any meaning at all. So, they run toward the water and they take a flying leap and create a splash that is felt throughout creation.
Why not jump in? I've heard the water is quite nice. See you out in the deep.....
